Running for Bone Cancer

On Monday 1st February, James Hopkins-Tovey, Financial Accountant at Pinnacle, will commence a 28-day challenge in aid of the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

Every 10 minutes, someone around the world is diagnosed with Bone Cancer. Sadly, the predicted survival rate of such a diagnose is dreadfully low. For James, these statistics really hit home. By completing the 100 miles challenge, James hopes to create a greater awareness of the disease as well as raise potentially life changing funds for the well worthy charity.

James will be supporting the 100 miles in February challenge by completing four morning runs a week, achieving 6.25 miles each time. The 100 mile challenge will also be in accordance with World Cancer Day on Thursday 4th February – a day that unites people, communities and entire countries to raise awareness and take action.

Completing this challenge will not only be important for the charity but also a personal achievement for James. After taking up running two years ago, James is yet to exceed more than 85 miles in a single month. Completing 100 miles in 28 days will certainly be a challenge but one that James is very much looking forward to taking on!

If you would like further information on this challenge or to show your support for James and help towards his £750 fundraising target, please head across to either the Just Giving page or Facebook donation page.

Good luck James!
