At Pinnacle, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a responsibility we take seriously. As part of our recent office relocation, we seized the opportunity to uphold our commitment to environmental responsibility and circular economy principles. The result? Not a single item of surplus furniture ended up in landfill.
Thoughtful Reuse, Charitable Giving, and Responsible Recycling
Relocations can often result in significant waste, but our approach was different. Our objective was clear from the outset: achieve zero landfill impact from our furniture transition—and we delivered.
Our strategy followed a three-tiered approach:
- Reuse What We Could: We began by auditing and repurposing essential furniture within our new office space. This allowed us to extend the lifecycle of high-quality items and reduce our need for new resources.
- Donate to Community Causes: Where we couldn’t reuse internally, we gave back. Selected items were donated to local charities and organisations, providing valuable resources to those who need them most.
- Recycle as a Last Resort: We partnered with The Senator Group’s Sustain recycling service for the remaining furniture. Items including desks, chairs, pedestals, storage units and screens were responsibly collected and diverted from landfill. This process recycled 3,025 kg of furniture, resulting in an impressive carbon saving of 4,109 kg/CO2e.
This effort earned Pinnacle an official Sustain Certified recognition from The Senator Group—a visible testament to our sustainable business practices.
