Pinnacle host their first physical Charity event in just over 2 years

Friday 19th November saw Pinnacle host their first physical Charity event in just over 2 years.

Following many rescheduled and cancelled plans, the team were delighted to welcome some friendly faces back to the Vale Resort, for a Charity curry night in aid of Woody’s Lodge, NSPCC and Tenovus.

The evening, albeit a little different to the annual ball, marked the finale of the teams extended fundraising efforts, after the original Three Welsh Peaks challenge was unfortunately postponed and later cancelled due to COVID-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic undoubtedly had a profound impact on many charities, with reports suggesting a monumental increase demand, with some struggling to fund their services.

According to Charity Commission (2021) report, 60% of charitable organisation’s saw a loss of income, with 32% experiencing a shortage of volunteers.

Despite many revised fundraising plans, the Pinnacle team were determined to host a physical event before the year was out. Boasting in excess of 70 guests, it’s safe to say the event was a success and well worth the wait!!

With the generous support of those who attended the event, along with kind donations for the auction and raffle, the evening generated a phenomenal £8,400.00 which will be split between the three Charities. In addition to that, Pinnacle also held an auction to support St David`s Cancer Hospice that really is so very close to the hearts of all in Pinnacle and they will also receive an amazing sum of £1,150.00. This brought the evenings overall total to an amazing £9,550.00.

Clive Hamilton, Managing Director, Pinnacle summarised the challenges of the last 18 months. “As we all know the last year and a half has been incredibly difficult for everyone, the pandemic has disrupted life above and beyond the way we could initially imagine.

Emma Brennan, Supporter Fundraising Manager for Wales said: “The curry night with Pinnacle was a fantastic event and we are so grateful that NSPCC Cymru/Wales was one of three charities they raised vital funds for. The £2,800.00 raised will go towards helping the charity be there for children and young people to keep them safe this Christmas.

“For children facing abuse, Christmas can be a lonely time. Fundraising events such as the curry night and our upcoming Walk for Children on 21st  December, ensure we can be there for them, and they aren’t alone. We would like to thank Pinnacle for their amazing support and to everyone who attended the event and donated to the NSPCC.”

Clive Charity

Charities across the Country have suffered in many ways resulting in the very people these organisations are created for, needing the support even more than usual. As a local business we wanted to assist in anyway we can for these three great Charities to be able to continue their fantastic work and support in all our communities, so hopefully this evening not only helps them with much needed funds but also has given them all the opportunity to share their great work with a new audience of friends who will now keep supporting them in their own ways. Thank You all for the incredible collective effort that really does make a difference.

Finally, a massive thank you to all the staff and management at the Vale Resort who looked after all of our needs and the two great live artists that entertained all evening in Kirsten Orsborn and Luke James. Watch this space for next year`s Ball……. ”
